Brane necklaces and brane coils

چکیده

We investigate D-term strings in angled inflation and show how they could be distinguished from conventional cosmic strings. In angled inflation, D-term strings are Dp−2 branes that are extended between Dp branes. The Dp−2 brane has a flat direction in compactified space, along which the endpoint of the Dp−2 brane can move freely on the Dp brane. Then naturally the position of the Dp−2 brane could vary along the D-term strings in the effective action, which results in peculiar (1 + 1)-dimensional kink configurations and windings defined on the world volume of the strings. The kinks on the strings are monopoles. The monopole is a Dp−2 brane that has boundaries on Dp branes and Dp−2 branes. Therefore, the D-term strings in angled inflation become necklaces. A loop of the necklace could shrink to produce a heavy winding state, which looks like a coil. Cosmological implications of brane necklaces and brane coils are important. We point out that any strings that are produced by brane creation could become necklaces and coils.

Dark matter production from cosmic necklaces

Cosmic strings have gained a great interest, since they are formed in a large class of brane inflationary models. The most interesting story is that cosmic strings in brane models are distinguished in future cosmological observations. If the strings in brane models are branes or superstrings that can move along compactified space, and also if there are degenerated vacua along the compactified s...

Spherically Symmetric Solutions in a New Braneworld Massive Gravity Theory

In this paper, a combination of the braneworld scenario and covariant de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive Gravity theory is proposed. In this setup, the five-dimensional bulk graviton is considered to be massive. The five dimensional nonlinear ghost-free massive gravity theory affects the 3-brane dynamics and the gravitational potential on the brane. Following the solutions with spherical s...

PBH and DM from cosmic necklaces

Cosmic strings in the brane Universe have recently gained a great interest. I think the most interesting story is that future cosmological observations distinguish them from the conventional cosmic strings. If the strings are the higher-dimensional objects that can (at least initially) move along the compactified space, and finally settle down to (quasi-)degenerated vacua in the compactified sp...

Primordial black holes from cosmic necklaces

Cosmic necklaces are hybrid topological defects consisting of monopoles and strings. We argue that primordial black holes(PBH) may have formed from loops of the necklaces, if there exist stable winding states, such as coils and cycloops. Unlike the standard scenario of PBH formation from string loops, in which it has been suggested that the production ratio f becomes a tiny fraction f ∼ 10−20, ...

Monopolonium in confining phase

Monopolonium is a monopole-antimonopole bound state, whose lifetime grows as the cube of the initial diameter. Such objects are important because their decay products can be observable. Apart from the monopolonium, it is believed that the existence of an epoch when the U(1) of the electromagnetism is spontaneously broken ensures the efficient annihilation of monopoles and antimonopoles in the U...
